(1947- )
England. Singer and film actor. He played the roles of Jesus in Godspell (1971) and Che Guevara in Evita (1978) on stage. Essex assisted at the official opening of the office of the Gypsy Council for Education, Culture, Welfare and Civil Rights (of which he is patron) in 1995. He has recorded the poems of Charlie Smith and is the presenter on Jeremy Sandford's video Spirit of the Gypsies. CD: Forever.
