Jovanovic, Zarko

Jovanovic, Zarko
(?-1997)
   Serbia. Balalaika player and singer. During World War II, he escaped from the concentration camp of Zemun and joined the Partisans. Jovanovic made many recordings in the years after 1945. He wrote the lyrics of the Romani national anthem, "Gelem, Gelem."
