Lovari

Lovari
   A clan living mainly in Hungary (numbering many thousands) and in Poland. In the past, many were horse-dealers and some still carry on this trade. From 1870 on, small groups nomadized in western Europe, though they were never as numerous as the Kalderash. The Romani spoken by the Lovari belongs to the Vlah dialect cluster. The Lovari rarely play music for the public, though they have a strong tradition of singing and dancing within their own community.
